Hold on to your seats Boba lovers because this news is groundbreaking!!

NBC has created the most amazing cake that we haven't even thought about! They turned our favorite drink - bubble tea/milk tea, into CAKE! Ok, lemme give you a short few seconds to absorb that because I know how shocking that was for you. I, too, was so frozen and excited at the same time that I couldn't wait to get my hands on one of these. Ok, you good now? not feeling like you need a second phase of a heart attack? Ok. Here's the best part, I got my hands on ONE OF THOSE BOBA CAKES!!! So duhh, I need to share it with the universe. Nothing but C is a famous baking and cake decorating school on (duh) cakes! It is also a family business that resides in Marikina and just a couple of weeks ago, they launched the NEWEST cake conceptualized by Hannah Florendo, herself - the BUBBLE TEA CAKE. The Boba Cake is placed on a tin can while the tapioca pearls are on a separate container. You add it on with the kuromitsu when you are ready to eat the cake!

There are 4 layers to the boba cake, starting from the bottom - the wintermelon cake, the cream cheese mix, the milk tea float and the tapioca pearls on top.

The wintermelon cake is a soft layer at the bottom that is just the perfect combination for everything on top! It balances well with the sweetness and gives texture to each bite! The cream cheese mix is like a personalized rock salt and cheese cream. First thing that popped out of my mind from that mix was definitely cream cheese. Cream cheese always takes milk tea drink into the next level of goodness, I mean, who doesn't love cream cheese? The top most layer of the cake is the milk tea float, personally named by Hannah Florendo, taken from the idea that it never drips to the bottom of the tin in the process of making it. This is the first thing you'll see, obviously as you open the tin can. At first, you'll think it's 'leche flan'(a popular Filipino dessert) but the texture is a lot smoother and creamier.

Of course, the boba cake doesn't feel complete without the tapioca pearls! These pearls are submerged in Kuromitsu - which is a Japanese sugar syrup, in literal translation "Black Honey" but with a thinner and milder texture. **These tapioca pearls come with a separate container, and not to be refrigerated. If you want to eat it in a couple of days, feel free to heat it up with a couple of tablespoons of water.

I am in LOVE with boba and trust me when I say I'm picky when it comes to the sweetness, texture and flavour. and this is DELICIOUS. Each bite still surprises me on how this still exists?! This Boba Cake is for sure something you need to try at least ONCE in your life. It might be that life changing event that you need in your life.
